On March 17, 2021, the Federal Bill C-7, An Act to Amend the Criminal Code (medical assistance in dying) received Royal Assent. This new legislation expands eligibility of medical assistance in dying (MAiD); modifies existing safeguards and adds new safeguards; introduces a waiver of final consent to receive MAiD in certain circumstances; and expands the monitoring regime for MAiD.
At its September 2020 meeting, as part of the 2021/22 budget, the College Board approved a fee increase of 5.5% for an annual pharmacy licence which will come into effect on April 1, 2021.
As of March 15, 2021, amendments to the College’s bylaws under the Health Professions Act (HPA) requiring temporary registrants to provide additional information to the College every 12 months, if their temporary registration period exceeds 12 months, are now in effect.

After granting PDAP exemptions for registration renewals between March 2020 and February 2021, the College would like to remind registrants that beginning in March 2021 all registrants must once again complete their PDAP requirements prior to their registration renewal deadline.
