Provisional Pharmacist Licence
A provisional licence may be granted by CPBC for individuals who are not yet eligible for a full licence so that they may provide pharmacy services under the supervision of a full licensee. If a provisional licence is granted, the individual may only use the title “pharmacist (provisional)” or “pharmacy technician (provisional)” and must not use any abbreviations.

Jurisprudence Examination
The Jurisprudence Exam (JE) is based on legislation contained in Federal and Provincial acts, their regulations, and bylaws that pertain to pharmacy operations and licensee (pharmacist or pharmacy technician) responsibilities in the practice of pharmacy.
As a result of the Health Professions and Occupations Act coming into force on April 1, 2026, and Federal drug legislation changes that will come into force on October 1, 2026, a new approach to jurisprudence education and assessment will be developed.

If you are a pharmacy student currently enrolled in a Baccalaureate or Pharm D (entry level) pharmacy program outside of BC and wish to complete a period of Structured Practical Training (SPT), or provide pharmacy services while under the supervision of a full pharmacist in BC, you can become licensed as a Student Pharmacist under the Non-UBC category.
