Update - Prohibition on the provision of incentives

Back to list

On December 9-10, 2015, a full hearing was held in the BC Court of Appeal, on the College’s bylaws prohibiting the provision of incentives for prescriptions or pharmacy services.

The Court of Appeal has reserved its decision. The College will provide an update once the decision is received.

On August 22, 2014 the College of Pharmacists of BC filed an appeal of the July 25, 2014 BC Supreme Court decision to the BC Court of Appeal. The Supreme Court decision struck down the College’s Bylaws that prohibited pharmacists from providing incentives, including points or other loyalty program benefits, upon the filling of prescriptions or the provision of other pharmacy services.
