Amending Committee Member Terms of Office
The College is asking for your feedback on proposed amendments to s.19(1) of the Health Professions Act (“HPA”) Bylaws to change committee member terms of office so that terms do not exceed three years, with a maximum of six consecutive years.
Authorizing the Registrar to Act Under S. 32(3) of the HPA
Though the Registrar now has the Board approval required to act under s.32(3), for purposes of enhanced transparency and to align with several other colleges established under the HPA who have placed this authority in bylaw, it is proposed that the HPA Bylaws include a provision authorizing the Registrar to act under s. 32(3).
PODSA FEE AMENDMENTS
The proposed PODSA fee schedule amendments are needed to actualize the fee increases previously approved as part of the College’s 2019/2020 budget.
Telepharmacy Licence Requirements – Removal of Schedules “C” and “E”
The Pharmacy Operations and Drug Scheduling Act (PODSA) Bylaws outline requirements for pharmacy licensure, including for telepharmacies. Schedules “C” and “E” under the PODSA Bylaws are detailed summaries of the existing telepharmacy physical requirements outlined throughout the Bylaws and in applicable policies.
Recognized Pharmacy Education Programs - HPA Bylaws Schedule "C"
Due to the development of new pharmacy education programs, program name changes and the discontinuation of certain programs, from time to time it is necessary to amend Schedule “C” to accurately reflect those changes. As such, amendments have been proposed to Schedule “C” to remove outdated content and reflect current program names. The proposed amendments will help enable the College to ensure that registrants are appropriately registered with the College and certified to practice.
