Checking a new employee’s identification and College registration status is a requirement. This applies to all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Professional Practice Policy 73- Validate Identification and College Registration Status for New Pharmacy Hires outlines verifying identification of new employees. It is a fast and easy step that protects you, your coworkers, your pharmacy and most importantly, your patients.

Be sure to follow these three steps every time a new hire is made:

1. Confirm Applicant Identification
2. Confirm Registration Status with the College of Pharmacists of BC
3. Confirm that the College Registration Number Provided by the Pharmacist Matches the Registration Number on PharmaNet
