Board Election Candidates Confirmed - Polls Open September 21, 2022

The College is pleased to announce the following candidates for the upcoming College of Pharmacists of BC Board Elections. Candidates are listed alphabetically by district.

Candidates


District 1 - Metropolitan Vancouver

Alex Dar Santos - Biography

Note: The College is pleased to announce the acclamation of Alex Dar Santos in District 1 (Metropolitan Vancouver) to a 3-year term. Mr. Dar Santos ran unopposed, therefore no election will be held in District 1.



District 3 - Vancouver Island / Coastal

District 5 - Northern British Columbia

The College did not receive any nomination for District 5 (Northern British Columbia).

As per HPA Bylaw 6 (9) – In the event that there are no nominees for a vacant position, the board may fill the vacant position in accordance to section 10. Section 10(1) In the event of a vacancy in an elected board member position the board may, by special resolution, appoint a full pharmacist or pharmacy technician, as applicable, eligible under section 5 for election to fill the position until the next election.



District 7 - Community Hospital

As a result of the nominations received, elections will be held in Districts 3 and 7.

The College has contracted BigPulse, an independent elections contractor, to administer the elections. Elections are conducted by electronic ballot, and all pharmacists in good standing (as defined in HPA Bylaws) in each of the respective districts, are eligible to vote. 

Polls Open
Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 9:00 AM

Each eligible pharmacist is entitled to 1 ballot and may vote in favour of 1 candidate in their respective district. Completed electronic ballots must be submitted by 5:00pm on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Electronic Voting Instructions

Pharmacy professionals in Districts 3 and 7 will receive voting instructions on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 when polls open.

Note: If you are not registered in District 3 and 7 before Monday, September 19, 2022 at 5:00 PM you will not be eligible to vote in the 2022 Board Elections. For more information on updating your personal information on eService read our latest Readlinks article.
