Proposed Bylaw for Comment: Virtual Care Practice Standards

The College Board is asking for your feedback on the proposed new Virtual Care Practice Standards Bylaw. It is anticipated these standards will be enacted under the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA), which will govern the College effective April 1, 2026.

The proposed bylaw is open for public comment for a notice period closing on January 28, 2026.

BACKGROUND

The College Board may make bylaws under sections 72(3) and 385(2) of the HPOA to establish practice standards for providing virtual care. The standards must be consistent with the mandate of the College.

Summary of Amendments

The following is the proposed new Virtual Care Practice Standards, posted on December 3, 2025, which will apply to full pharmacists when providing health services through virtual care.

Please submit your feedback no later than January 28, 2026.
