Standards of Practice Welcome to the section of our website that deals with our standards of practice. In this section you'll find information about our code of ethics and our Framework of Professional Practice (FPP).As experts on prescription and nonprescription medications, today's pharmacists are an integral part of our patients' health care teams. All pharmacists practising in British Columbia are governed by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia's code of ethics and its standards of practice. We have two versions of our Code of Ethics, a short version which is posted in pharmacies and summarizes our professional values, and a longer version which spells out each of these values. The practice of pharmacy in B.C. is based on a Framework of Professional Practice which describes what B.C. pharmacists do in their daily work and how they know they are doing it well. This framework provides the foundation for all College programs and services.
