Pharmacy Technician Information
Pharmacy technicians are taking on an increasingly important role in pharmacies today. This enables pharmacists to focus more on patient care initiatives. It also creates a need for enhanced training and regulation of pharmacy technicians.
The College of Pharmacists of British Columbia is exploring the creation of a new class of college registrant - pharmacy technician. Having a common standard for pharmacy technicians will recognize the value of these important team members, allow them to use their skills to the maximum and enhance patient care.
Work is progressing across the country on many pharmacy technician regulation initiatives. The College is working in collaboration with many organizations and other pharmacy regulatory authorities in developing processes to support regulation.
