Professional Development

Welcome to the section of our website that provides information about professional development. All B.C. pharmacists regularly take part in a Professional Development and Assessment Program (PDAP) that confirms our competence. This program encourages lifelong learning while ensuring safe and effective pharmacy practice outcomes. It builds on our Framework of Professional Practice (FPP).

Using a self-assessment, pharmacists choose one of two PDAP options, the Knowledge Assessment (KA) exam or the Learning & Practice Portfolio (LPP).

Under Learning Tool Kit you can find Guide to the Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties (CPS) which contains information on proprietary and nonproprietary products. You can also find the Pharmacists Resource Guide.

Under Continuing Professional Development Programs (CPPD) you can find links to organizations which provide pharmacy continuing education, including a Pharmacists' Guide to the Internet.

Under MentorLink you can learn about a program that helps pharmacists stay current through personal coaching and one-on-one mentoring.
