CE-Plus

The CE-Plus tool has been developed by a committee of your peers with the intent of encompassing a wide variety of pharmacy practices (i.e. research, academia, clinical hospital, community, etc.). The working group is confident that this tool promotes ongoing professional development. CE-Plus is currently mandatory for Phase 3 participants only.

CE-Plus, unlike traditional CE programs which only recognize courses or workshops that have been accredited (granted CEU’s), was specifically designed to recognize all types of professional learning, including, but not limited to:

  • Accredited courses (i.e. CEU’s) offered by post-secondary institutions and accredited training bodies delivered through multiple modes (i.e. in-class, on-line, distance education)
  • Advanced practitioner courses
  • In-service learning activities: work-based information sharing and discussion (i.e. case studies, discussion groups, journal clubs, rounds)
  • Articles, journals, videos, books
  • Conferences

To satisfy the requirements of the CE-Plus option the learning must be directly linked to at least one Role in the Framework of Professional Practice.

Phase 3 participants must complete a minimum of 6 Learning Records and a minimum of 15 hours per year. Both minimums must be met to satisfy the requirements of the program. (Time documented is the actual time spent on the activity.) The activities must occur between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010 to be considered current.

Submit supporting documents that confirm learning activity details (i.e. copies of CE certificates, conference program, PowerPoint presentation which you prepared, patient pamphlet you developed, websites visited, etc), along with your completed Learning Records .

The deadline for submission of completed Learning Records for Phase 3 participants is August 31, 2010.
