Important Information for Pharmacists - Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 Influenza and Antiviral Medication

A letter from the Provincial Health Officer, BC Centre for Disease Control and Ministry of Health Services has been posted on the PharmaCare website. It provides updated information about priority indications for use of antiviral medications. The letter is available online at http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/pharmacare/pdf/PharmAntiviral2.pdf.
Antiviral distribution plans and other logistical information will be provided in a PharmaCare Newsletter scheduled for this week.
Please note that, early this week, government will make information for physicians and pharmacists accessible through the "H1N1 Flu Virus Information" website. Pharmacists will be able to sign-up to be notified when significant new, or revised, information relevant to pharmacy practice is posted. To access the pharmacist information, look for the "Information for Health Care Providers" button at http://www.gov.bc.ca/h1n1.
