2018 Board Elections: District 2 Candidate - Jora Lidder

District 2 - Jora Lidder

Hi, my name is Jora Lidder, and I am seeking your support to bring my unique perspective and expertise to the Board of the College of Pharmacists of BC. For myself, having grown up in the small town of Quesnel, it is the same community values that have shaped me to be the individual who I am today, which play an integral role in my day-to-day practices as a Pharmacist/Owner of Shoppers Drug Mart in Brookswood.  My practice is driven by integrity, honesty and my passion for the profession and the safety of my patients.

I graduated from UBC in 2004 and soon after moved back to practice with Shoppers Drug Mart and serve the same tight knit community that I grew up in.  In 2008, I joined SDM 205 as a Staff Pharmacist and then assumed the Associate/Owner role in 2009.   Over the past 14 years, I have had the pleasure of serving Abbotsford, Surrey, and now Langley in the Fraser Valley region.  The high level of trust that patients instill in their pharmacist has significantly resonated with me and I value that this trust is not to be abused.  While serving in Quesnel, unfortunately I was hindered at providing my maximum value due to the restrictions on what we could provide based on the bylaws at that time.  Fast forward a number of years, it’s with great pride that we are able to currently adapt prescriptions, administer injections, and provide medication reviews. Our patients need us to continue to improve access to healthcare, and ultimately their therapeutic outcomes.

I have the business mind-set, experience and the passion required to actively serve on the board and advocate for patient safety,

If elected, I will work diligently to ensure that the public is provided with safe and effective pharmacy care as we move into the future.
